Bucket Head
Last night I was watching TV and letting Oscar play. We usually hide treats in the living room and since he is blind it is a big game for him to find the treats. We have toys that we hide the treats. One toy is a canister with a flip top lid. He is able to open the top and flip the canister around until the treat comes out. I was watching him play last night and he put his head in the canister sniffing for the treat but this time he walked in to a cabinet. The canister was immediately stuck on his head. I freaked out and yelled for Trevor. I knew Oscar only had a couple of seconds until he ran out of air. The canister was really stuck! I pulled on it while Trevor held Oscar. Nothing. Trevor suggested to twist is and nothing. Oscar started to freak out because he could not breath. I was freaking out and so was Trevor. After all we have been through saving Oscar's life multiple times through Blasto and liver cancer and blindness. I could not let him suffocate to death. I pulled with all my might while worring that I would hurt him by pulling the canister. And finally it came off. Oscar gasped for air and stumbled around not really understanding what really happened. I was scared to death and my hands were trembling. It was less than an minute that the canister was on his head but in that amount of time he was out of air. While it might sound funny at the time it was not funny at all. But now we have taken to calling Oscar - Bucket Head. He doesn't find it funny.
